Juanita Johnson DeLoach

Juanita Johnson DeLoach, 85, died Monday, November 09, 2009 at her residence in Savannah. She was born in Savannah, GA, daughter of the late Cary Rudolph and Lucy Lewis Johnson. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and joined Calvary Baptist Temple at the age of eight when Reverend John Wilder was Pastor. She married Maurice "Pete" DeLoach, July 12, 1943 and followed him through moves to Sullivan's Island, SC and Chesapeake, VA. Mrs. DeLoach was a devoted and faithful Sunday School Teacher at Sullivan's Island Baptist Church, Great Bridge Baptist Church in Chesapeake and also at Calvary Baptist Temple in Savannah, GA. She was a member of the Betty Boatwright Women's Circle and served as the first President of Calvary Baptist Day School PTA, 1964-1965.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Maurice "Pete" DeLoach and brother, Cary R. Johnson, Jr. of Hazelhurst, GA. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan DeLoach Dull and Robert Dull of Columbia, SC; Mary Jane Miller and Noble Miller of Brunswick, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen R. and Danelle Fennimore DeLoach of Myersville, MD; brothers, Joseph L. Johnson of Savannah and Mrs. R.T. Betty Thompson of Ridgeland, SC; grandchildren, Randy Vaigneur, Scott Vaigneur, Alan Hamilton, William Hamilton, Mark Hamilton, Kate DeLoach, Michael DeLoach, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery.

Remembrances: Frederica Baptist Church, 1700 Frederica Rd.; Suite 300, St. Simons Island, GA 31522. Designate in memory of Juanita DeLoach.
